Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) is pleased to present its Sustainability Report 2017. This marks the 13th year that APP has reported its sustainability performance, demonstrating our commitment to become a leading global pulp-and-paper company that provides superior values to our customers, community, employees and shareholders - responsibly and sustainably.
Sustainability Report 2017 provides information on APP's sustainability performance and highlights progress on key issues affecting the company and stakeholders, including:
- APP’s sustainability strategy and governance, including progress against our Sustainability Roadmap Vision 2020.
- Material sustainability topics in 2017.
- Sustainability attributes of our mills and products, including the inaugural report from the OKI Pulp and Paper mill
- Progress, issues, responses and performances in four key areas: Forests, Peatlands, Operations, and Communities.
- Operational improvements and efficiencies APP has implemented to reduce carbon, energy, water, and waste intensities.
- Community engagement programs at APP group level, local mill level and with our pulpwood suppliers; and alignment to United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.
The content and quality of this report is guided by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. The report has been externally assured to the internationally recognized AA1000(AS) and meets the requirements of Core Level.
