APP welcome FSC decision to enter into dialogue on establishing a roadmap towards compliance with FSC Policy for Association

Asia Pulp & Paper Group (APP) is delighted to announce the latest news regarding APP’s engagement with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

At August 2015 Board meeting, FSC has decided to enter into a dialogue with APP in order to establish a roadmap towards compliance with FSC Policy for Association.

The FSC Board decided to progress APP to the FSC’s ‘roadmap phase’ after concluding that APP has made progress on the implementation of relevant policies to improve its business practices. At the same time, the FSC Board highlighted a number of continuing concerns that still require action.

This roadmap is meant to provide APP with a framework to improve its practices and performance and therefore meet FSC Policy for Association. Completion of the roadmap will assist in a decision by the FSC Board whether to end FSC’s disassociation from APP.

APP welcomes this decision and will work with FSC to continuously improve the implementation of its Forest Conservation Policy and landscape approach.
